Experienced Project Architect/Project Manager

Zervas, an award-winning architectural firm in Bellingham, Washington, is seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager with approximately 6 - 10 years' experience. Our firm is a close-knit team of artistically talented and technically skilled professionals who bring to each project the full power of our collective experience and insight. The successful candidate will:

Have at a minimum a professional degree in architecture from an accredited university and 6 to 10 years' experience working in established architectural firms. Licensure in Washington State preferred
Have a solid work history including experience in design and construction administration of public, commercial, multi-family and/or single-family custom home projects.
Be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office programs, as well as familiar with Adobe Creative suite. Strong visual presentation skills and communication skills are required
Have a strong background in designing buildings to meet Building and Zoning Codes and other Washington State and or regional coces and ordinances have experience in the permitting and bid processes.
Have a well-developed understanding of Construction Documents and the ability to review and correct errors in documents without supervision
Be comfortable with creating design and construction documents for a variety of project types ranging from single family residential to large commercial and institutional buildings.
Have a passion for creative design solutions and problem solving.
Have the ability to interact graciously with clients, handle consultant coordination, and interface with contractors for design intent follow through.
Enjoy working in a team setting, and be excited to share knowledge and ideas with others, and to help others improve their own skills and expertise.
Work quickly, effectively and within project timelines as either a design team member or project manager.
Bring a strong work ethic, sense of professionalism, and desire to constantly learn to the Zervas team. Emplovee work requirements are based on current workload and may exceed 40 hours a week. This is a salaried position wnich recuires a minimum ot 40-hours per week.

Senior Interior Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a passion for design, and a deep understanding of spatial aesthetics. As a Senior Interior Designer, you'll be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing interior design solutions that harmonize with our architectural vision and meet our clients' needs

Responsibilities

Be responsible for generating and developing design ideas with the design team
Manage and mentor team members from concept design through construction administration
Maintain relationships with clients and consultants
Aid in collecting information for client assessment (attend interviews, provide documentation support)
Review work for design integrity, accuracy, clarity and quality
Assist in the development of interior concepts based on client vision, project scope, and architectural concept
Coordinate with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps and fabricators to meet project objectives
Maintain furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) databases, specifications and performance metrics
Assist with review of RFIs and submittals during Construction Administration
Participate in team meetings to discuss project and technical issues

Qualifications

Accredited professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted
NCIDQ certification is preferred and 6+ years of related experience
LEED or WELL accreditation are preferred or willingness to be certified in tone of these areas.
Detailing and execution of construction documents with minimal supervision
Proficient modeling with and leading projects in Revit and/or AutoCAD
Proficient 3D rendering abilities in Revit, 3dMax, and/or Enscape
Proficient with the MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with complex multi-phased public, education, healthcare, and/or corporate projects, is desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Have a passion for planning, materiality, detailing and furnishings
Working knowledge of the application of color, range of design principles, materials and aesthetics
Familiarity with space planning methodology
Familiarity with furnishings and finishes
Sketching and rendering skills
Working knowledge of design phases and procedures
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
